Focus Areas
Why Is Our Work Critical?
Hunger, malnutrition, poverty, inequality, conflict, economic instability and market disruptions are increasing vulnerability and limiting access to safe, nutritious food and reliable water services.

Circular Food and Water Economies
We support the transition from linear, waste-intensive systems toward circular models that retain food, water, nutrients and materials at their highest value.
Our work covers food loss and waste prevention, water efficiency and reuse, redistribution, resource recovery, valorisation, circular business models and the policy, institutional, financial and market conditions needed to implement and scale circular solutions.

Food, Water and Climate Security
Food and water security are deeply interconnected with energy, ecosystems and climate, and are increasingly affected by resource scarcity, trade disruptions and institutional fragmentation.
We apply systems thinking and Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems Nexus approaches to strengthen resilience, improve water and resource productivity, manage trade-offs and synergies, and support more secure and sustainable food and water systems, particularly in water-scarce regions.

Nature-Positive and Climate-Resilient Solutions
We support strategies, policies and programmes that work with nature to strengthen climate resilience, regenerate ecosystems, protect biodiversity and improve the management of water, land and natural resources.
Our work includes Nature-based Solutions, ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, water-sensitive planning and the development of enabling frameworks that support nature-positive investment and implementation.

Urban Food and Water Systems
As cities grow, they face increasing pressure from food insecurity, water scarcity, waste generation, climate risks and ecosystem degradation. We support municipalities and urban stakeholders in integrating circular food and water systems, Nature-based Solutions and sponge-city principles into urban strategies, policies, planning frameworks and investment priorities.
Our work focuses on strengthening the enabling environment for resource efficiency, food-waste prevention, water-sensitive urban development and more resilient urban systems.

Policy, Governance and Enabling Environments
Lasting transformation requires more than individual projects, technologies or pilot interventions.
We help governments, development partners and organisations assess and strengthen the policy, regulatory, institutional, financial, infrastructure, market, innovation and capacity conditions needed for sustainable solutions to be adopted, implemented and scaled.
